House Meow is a Certified Fear Free facility, 501c3/ Not-for-Profit, Foster-Based organization in Marion County, FL. Our mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable felines and end unnecessary suffering through compassion, education, and community collaboration. We are dedicated to improving the welfare of owned and unowned cats, kittens, community, stray, and feral felines.
We have a simple yet timeless strategy; positive, proactive, community partnerships. #SameTeam
Our commitment encompasses three core pillars:
Fostering and Socialization: House Meow provides a safe haven for kittens, community cats, and ferals who exhibit the capacity to be socialized. We believe every cat deserves a chance at a loving home and a fulfilling life. Through our dedicated network and relationships with community partners, we nurture these cats, instilling trust and social skills, and preparing them for adoption into forever homes.
TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) Support: We actively support our local Trap-Neuter-Return rescues for community cat colonies. By practicing humane and responsible population control, we strive to reduce the suffering of feral cats and curb their overpopulation. House Meow supports community members in implementing TNR initiatives, effectively improving the lives of both cats and humans. When funds allow for it, we assist with spay/neuter services costs at approved low-cost clinics.
Community Collaboration, Outreach, and Education: House Meow recognizes that creating lasting change requires community involvement and education. We work tirelessly to raise awareness about the importance of responsible cat ownership, the value of TNR, and the humane treatment of all felines. Through our work, we empower individuals and communities to become advocates for cats, fostering a culture of compassion. At House Meow, we envision a world where every cat has an opportunity to live a happy, healthy life and where communities thrive in harmony with their feline companions. Our commitment to making this vision a reality drives our dedication to fostering, TNR, and community collaboration. Together, we can build a brighter future for cats and the communities they call home.
